The Reclaimed Barnwood Trend

It's impossible to look at furniture or interior design photos without running across reclaimed barnwood furniture. It's on trend right now, and we understand why: it looks great! Reclaimed barnwood fits especially well in homes that are rustic or country style. Barnwood also looks great in man-caves, cabins, and lodges.

While we love the look, the durability, and the versatility; we know that reclaimed barnwood can be hard to come by. Factor in that large pieces aren't always available, and the fact that it can be hard to work with, and you'll find many wanting the look of reclaimed barnwood furniture without being able to have it.

Fortunately for them, we've come up with a solution, and we call it ranchwood. Ranchwood is a rough sawn texture technique that we developed ten years ago! It's an option available on many of our wood furniture pieces at no additional cost.

What is Ranchwood?

Ranchwood is our take on the reclaimed wood trend. We create it using new and treated wood from local lumber mills. The boards are rough sawn before being put together in a plank method (so you can see and feel the edges of each board).

The result is a surface that is rustic or "unfinished", yet smooth enough for us to use safely on surfaces that see high traffic (no scratching sensitive skin or snagged clothing with ranchwood).

If you like the idea of reclaimed barnwood furniture, we think you'll love rough sawn ranchwood. It solves many of the problems associated with reclaimed barnwood furniture, yet it gives you the same look and design aesthetic.

Whether you want it on an accent table, a dining table, or as an interesting detail to other pieces, we can very likely make your DIY barnwood furniture dream a DBY (designed by you) ranchwood reality. Contact one of our retail partners for more details.
